Environmental Certification
We are an Environmentally Certified Hotel
Arenahotellet is a hotel that has been awarded the international environmental certification Green Key – (Green Key in English). This means that we actively work with environmental and sustainability issues, including by following Green Key’s comprehensive criteria. In this way, you as a guest contribute to taking responsibility for the environment without compromising your experience or comfort with us.

- We use renewable electricity, energy-saving lighting and have routines for reduced energy consumption regarding heating and ventilation.
- We have taken measures to reduce water consumption.
- We sort and recycle our waste and that of our guests.
- We use environmentally certified washing and cleaning products.
- Our guests are offered vegetarian and organic alternatives.
- Staff are involved in sustainability work and receive annual training in the field.
- We work to continuously improve our efforts by formulating annual goals.
WOULD YOU LIKE TO HELP US?
We hope you would like to help us reduce our environmental impact, please:
- Leave recyclable packaging and deposits in your room and we will sort them for you.
- Take shorter showers and use your towel for an extra day.
- Let us know that your room does not need to be cleaned every day if you are staying multiple nights.
- Turn off lights, switch off electronics and unplug chargers from outlets.
- Drink tap water instead of bottled water.
- Choose vegetarian and organic alternatives in the restaurant.
- Travel with more environmentally friendly transportation such as trains, buses and bicycles, or walk.
Please give us suggestions on how we can improve our environmental work. Your opinion is important to us.
Green Key is an international environmental certification for hospitality and tourism facilities and is present in over 50 countries around the world. The certification is driven internationally by the Foundation for Environmental Education (FEE), which is supported by some of the world’s leading organizations in environment and education such as UNEP, UNESCO and the World Tourism Organization.
Today there are over 150 Green Key certified facilities in Sweden and several major chains are connected to the certification. The organization Green Key Sweden drives the environmental certification nationally and all facilities’ Green Key certification is approved and renewed by an independent jury. All facilities are also monitored through regular audits to ensure that the criteria are followed.
