Sustainability
Our Sustainability Work
Vision:
To create a sustainable and fair future, we strive to be a role model within our industry regarding social responsibility and environmental sustainability. By minimizing our environmental impact, promoting diversity and inclusion, and actively participating in community development, we aim to become a business that aligns with the well-being of both the planet and people.
Commitment:
Arena Hotel takes a holistic approach to engagement, focusing on collaboration with employees, guests, suppliers, and the community. Through open communication and sustainable partnerships, we strive to build meaningful relationships for a successful and sustainable business operation.
- Employees: We engage our employees through an open communication channel where everyone can share their opinions and ideas. We also offer courses/training in areas such as fire safety, CPR, finance, and sales, to name just some of the development opportunities available to promote staff well-being and professional growth.
- Guests: We engage our guests by collecting feedback and opinions about our services. This is done through surveys sent to all our guests. The information is used to improve our services with the goal of creating a more satisfying experience for our guests.
- Suppliers: We engage our suppliers by ensuring they share our values regarding sustainability and ethics. This includes setting requirements for sustainability, working conditions, and production methods.
- Community: We engage with our community by participating in local community initiatives in collaboration with IFU Arena (see more under “Social Responsibility”) and by offering many different types of employment opportunities.
Environmental Sustainability:
Environmental sustainability is fundamental to Arena Hotel. This is to offer a sustainable guest experience while being a role model in sustainable hotel operations. We are certified with the international environmental certification Green Key, which means we actively work with environmental and sustainability issues by following Green Key’s comprehensive criteria. Some examples of our commitments:
- We have a solar panel system on our roof.
- We use renewable electricity.
- We have procedures for reduced energy consumption regarding heating and ventilation.
- We sort and recycle our waste and that of our guests.
- We use eco-labeled laundry and cleaning products.
- Our guests are offered vegetarian and organic options.
