UTK-hallen was built in 1976 by Uppsala Tennisklubb (TUK). Since its opening, UTK-hallen has expanded several times and is now a multiplex for a large number of sports all year round. Here UTK also runs tennis activities for children, teens and adults. The division A team and Elitgymnasiet NIU Uppsala also train here, as well as Uppsala Squash Club and RIG golf during the indoor season. UTK-hallen also houses the training centre Ultimate Performance, which offers personal training and treatment for professional athletes.
Today, UTK-hallen has ten hard courts and four clay courts for tennis, a multi-court for badminton, floorball and golf training, as well as two squash courts. There is also a café and a well-stocked tennis shop where you can restring your racket or test a new racket model.
UTK is currently expanding to make room for an additional tennis area with four tennis courts and three padel courts. UTK-hallen is also getting a new two-floor entrance building with reception, sports stores and office space. During construction, the men’s showers and changing rooms will be renovated.
UTK-hallen is also perfect for bigger events. Past events include the Junior Swedish Tennis Championship, an ATP competition (Futures level), SuperVintertour, the Swedish Badminton Championship, as well as several national tennis competitions.
If you’re training or competing at IFU Stadium, Arenahotellet is the most comfortable choice, especially given the fact that the hotel is specially designed for athletes. Each sport has its own wing, including one specially designed for athletes using wheelchairs. When you need to unwind, the hotel has a gaming room, with games like Playstation and X-Box, along with complimentary Wi-Fi, sports channels and a relaxation centre.
Outside of the facility, there are plenty of paid parking spaces. The Lagerlöfsgatan bus stop is located 550 metres from UTK-hallen. Additionally, Arenahotellet has 26 parking spaces, four of which are disability accessible. There are also seven charging stations for electric cars.
To get here by bus from the central station, take bus 3 towards Östra Nyby. It takes about 15 minutes to get to Arenahotellet from the central station by bike.
